Vector X Studios was originally founded in 1992 with the intent of combining all aspects of creation under one roof: 3D graphics, compositing, design, illustration, video, and game development (for the PC market at the time.)  Eventually due to market demands, Vector X  joined forces with Jones Productions (film and video) and formed the new entity, Electric Ink.  Electric Ink’s sole focus was on computer graphics and the firm won multiple awards in advertising for creations during the Super Bowl, on television in general, and during an IMAX trailer.

In 2016, the founder of Vector X, Todd Barron, started the company anew with the focus being on game development for PCs, Macs, and mobile (with plans to expand to Xbox One).
